Hold on nix*rushes to konan picking her up and laying her in her bed*rest.....

How? Well this comet hit a gased planet and some life as we know it began! It thrived and life started evolving. Starting with single celled organisims that grew into dinosaurs! What happend to them no one really knows but i believe a comet hit the earth and killed them. Then the ice age gre and mamoths and cave men thrived.
